Sarah and I regularly head over to the park just to walk around. If you start from about the Big Spring itself, and head down around the sidewalk, across the road, around past the red bridge, around the lake, and then through the tunnel and around the spring walkway, it becomes a good mid distance stroll that takes half an hour and involves quite a bit of various things to see. There are lots of ducks, koi, dogs, people, and various other wildlife critters. And, if you go up the steps on one end you get to Downtown Huntsville, which is also worth seeing. If you are from out of town and want to visit a popular, attractive site, this is it. And, if you are in town and don't get to it that often, I recommend it.
