"I Bet I Will Laugh alot Before I Die"

At the time I wrote this one, I had a bad habit of trying to conflict the reader of positive and negative imagery at the same time, so that they were not sure if they were reading downbeat happy poems or upbeat sad poems. Actually, I still like to do that. Damn me...

I bet I will laugh a lot before I die. I bet I will cry some, as well. It is Human to let loose, to reach out, and show how it is, We feel. Is that an excuse Or a "Thank You for That"? The world flows fast, faster and faster; It learns itself, it climbs higher and higher until It falls off of the horizon, into the blue. I bet I will laugh a lot before I die. I bet I will never grow younger. I am too old for that, But still I wonder Just what it might once be like. Just once the color green, in the trees, As it is held at the awakening of Spring. Lost in the Summer.

Original Version

I bet I will laugh a lot before I die. I bet I will cry some, as well. It is Human to do so... Is that an excuse Or a "Thank You for That"? I bet I will laugh like fool before I die. I might even think about some things. The world flows fast, It learns itself, It falls off of the horizon. I bet I will laugh a lot before I die. I bet I will never grow younger. I am too old for that, But still I wonder Just what it might once be like.
