A Cracker of a 1-Star Review

I've blogged about 1-star reviews on Amazon, before, and I still consider them to be some of the best reviews to read [generally for all the wrong reasons]. Today's 1-star review is from one of the many recent cash-in-on-the-anniversary lines of novella length books put out in the Doctor Who universe. I've largely avoided them since they do seem to be potboilers, more so than even the mixed-bag BBC Books releases from recent years past (massmarket -sized and -bound books but with hardcover). The one by Jenny Colgan, Into the Nowhere, though, has a plot with a planet that should not exist, and a strange cover, so I thought why not? And then I saw this one 1-star review and it was brilliant...

"This is not a matter of a taste. It's not a matter of this story just not being my cup of tea..." ...and he is unanimous in that!

I love the idea of someone hating something so much that they cannot fathom how anyone could like it. Their worldview about this $2 ebook is so strong that they cannot understand viewpoints outside of their angry stance. If that's not being alive, I don't know what is...
